A key component of the High Level Interactive Seminar is the panel discussion where Heads of key anti-corruption agencies are expected to present their score cards as they engage the public on the topics: “Preventing Corruption: Closing doors to illicit activities” and “Reducing Impunity: Recovery of Proceeds of Crime for Sustainable Development”. The grand finale of the schools’ debate and anti-corruption arts competition for the youth will also be showcased at the event.
Corruption is a common subject of discourse among individuals from all works of life and strata of the society. The cardinal objective of the International Anti-Corruption Day – IACD is to increase awareness on issues of corruption in Nigeria, and to promote debate on its manifestations, effects and remedies.
The UN agencies in Nigeria have since 2009 supported Nigeria in promoting global public campaigns to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day and make it a powerful day of action against corruption.
